These gates are called Pile Gate, Ploce Gate, and Buza Gate.

PILE gate: located on the West side of Dubrovnik’s old town.
The area around the Pile Gate is the busiest gate in Dubrovnik’s old town. Unfortunately, the pile gate has restricted space, so stopping taxis is challenging because they hold up traffic.

PLOCE gate: situated on the East side of Dubrovnik’s old town.
Ploče gate area is generally less crowded and easier for taxi drivers and passengers.

BUŽA gate: situated on the North side of Dubrovnik’s old town.
Buža gate area has restricted space; stopping taxi is quite hard because they are holding up traffic.

Ask your taxi driver to drop you off at the Ploče gate of Dubrovnik’s old town.
Ploče gate is the best drop-off & pick-up point for taxis and passengers going to the Dubrovnik old town

 

Enter Dubrovnik’s old town as a pedestrian.

Once you leave the taxi vehicle at the gate, you must enter the town as a pedestrian with your luggage.  You must know that Dubrovnik’s old town has many narrow streets, stairs and steps, so prepare your walkway to the apartment.
